Meet Noxious Nox

Melodie Jaxxon aka "Allora"
Female Lead
An epidemiologist Major in the US Army, Melodie Jaxxon never expected to fall through a tear in reality into a realm ruled by elves. Her dark complexion marks her as “exotic” in this strange land, and she is quickly claimed as a pet, stripped of her name and autonomy, and renamed Allora. In this world, primitive humans—called Canariae—are treated as property, but Allora refuses to break. Fierce as fire yet human enough to falter, she uses her wit, soldier’s training, and unyielding will to survive. Surrounded by enemies wielding ancient magic, she hunts for a cure to save the human race and for a way home—before the forces that own her consume her entirely.

Malec Talandros
Male Lead
An Awyan Commander feared and revered, Malec Talandros is known as The Silver Fox—a name earned for the rare platinum hair of his bloodline and the razor-sharp cunning that has made him a master of military strategy. His noble heritage grants his family claim to the throne, yet politics hold no interest for him; his world is built on the discipline and order he demands of himself and his soldiers. That world shatters the day he encounters a wild, untamed Canariae. Determined to train her into the perfect household pet, Malec soon learns that caging fire is impossible. Instead, he succumbs to it—drawn to her chaos until it consumes him. Unknowingly soulbinding himself to Allora, Malec seals his fate. From that moment on, there can be no Malec without Allora, and no Allora without the gilded cage he has built for her.

Luko Farishki
Supporting Cast, Malec's best friend
Luko Farishki, an Awyan healer specializing in Canariae anatomy, grew up humble and learned to endure the scorn of those who see him as lesser for speaking with humans. His loyalty to Malec shields him from the worst of it, but alone he still faces prejudice. Intelligent and endlessly curious, Luko dreams of visiting the human realm to study their sciences. As Allora’s caretaker, he treats her with dignity, understanding her struggle, and together they form a quiet alliance as two outsiders in a world that refuses to fully accept them.

King Surion Talandros
Main Antagonist, Malec's cousin from his father's side
A jester in a crown, and Malec’s cousin, for whom he has neither patience nor respect. A scheming snake, Surion’s childhood jealousy still festers, driving him to undermine Malec at every turn. With a silvery tongue and no real talent for leadership, he thrives on politics and posturing while leaving the true work of ruling to others. Malec allows him the throne, preferring his own freedom over the burden of a crown, but he keeps Surion in check with the occasional sharp reminder—a bruise here, a cracked rib there—when lines are crossed. The day Surion threatens Malec’s Canariae, however, the warning becomes a savage beating that leaves him humiliated and seething. It is then that he begins to plot his revenge, hatching a scheme to sell her to a foreign king where Malec’s reach cannot follow. Whether the plan will succeed… is another matter entirely.

Surin Talandros
Supporting Cast, Malec's father
Once King of the North, a figure of calm authority and sharp intellect, with the silver hair and piercing ice-blue eyes of his line. Even-tempered, wise, and deliberate, he hides a deep love for his children behind the reserved decorum expected of a noble Awyan, watching over Malec and Surian like a hawk despite the distance he must keep. Malec and his father often clash in ideology, yet Surin quietly delights in needling his son, testing the steel of his convictions. Gifted with rare psychic abilities, he can speak directly into the minds of others, read their thoughts, and alter memories—a talent both invaluable and dangerous. He adores Allora as a daughter-in-law, but when she runs, Surin sees her as the root of Malec’s unraveling. Believing it the only way to save his son—and the realm—from the chaos of Malec’s obsession, he erases all memory of her. In doing so, he underestimates the depth of their soulbond, never realizing that some ties cannot be severed, not even by the strongest magic.

Erolyn Delyrien
Supporting Cast, Malec's cousin from his Mother's side
Cousin to Malec on his mother’s side, Erolyn is a clever, worldly, and effortlessly confident Awyan who walks to the beat of his own drum. A successful merchant from a middle-class family, he moves through life with an easy, unhurried grace, rarely ruffled and always taking things in stride. Though he respects both Malec and Luko, he refuses to be intimidated—keenly aware of Malec’s volatile streak and wise enough to know when not to push. His only true ambition is to avoid boredom, a pursuit that quickly drew him to Allora’s side the moment they met. Her fiery nature and knack for mischief are, to him, the finest entertainment. Beneath his teasing charm lies a heart of gold, and he remains one of the few elves Allora can count on to never lie to her.

Surian Talandros
Supporting Cast, Malec's Sister
Malec’s much younger sister by over a century, raised apart from him under their father Surin’s care while their mother wandered on her own pursuits. Where Malec’s presence dominates a room, Surian’s slips quietly into the corners; she is gentle, soft-natured, and easily overshadowed by the larger-than-life personalities and reputations in her family. Surian often feels like a shadow cast by brighter flames, overlooked in favor of those whose names carry more weight. Yet beneath the quiet lies a quiet resolve—one she channels into a secret underground network that helps Canariae escape abusive Awyan masters. Reliable, intelligent, and unwilling to be corrupted by the cruelty of court life, she longs for a friend who will see her without fear or envy of her family name. She finds this rare connection in Allora, the sister-in-law Malec so possessively claims, and for the first time, Surian begins to feel she belongs.

King Kael Rhaazim, King of The West
Supporting Cast, Antagonist
Towering, broad-shouldered with electric pale blue eyes that miss nothing. His long blond hair is tied high with a black ribbon he once stole from Allora and kept like a secret vow. The youngest of several siblings yet the only to claim the throne, he rules with a steady hand and a disarming smile. A close friend of King Surion, he first met Allora during a visit to the Northern court, already intrigued by the wild rumors surrounding her—and even more so when most proved true. Soft-spoken yet commanding, Kael wields kindness and charm like weapons, his thick Southern Awyan accent wrapping every word in velvet. He hates seeing Allora treated like a pet when he knows she is more, and the first time he accidentally touched her, he imprinted without her notice. That single moment anchored him, turning curiosity into need, and need into something far more dangerous.

Lieutenant Oliver Massen, U.S. Army
Supporting Cast, Col. Jaxxon's Subordinate
Oliver is the Colonel’s shadow—loyal, watchful, and unshakably devoted. Orphaned when the Covart-Virus claimed his entire family, he was abandoned in the Awyan realm as a preteen and left to survive among those who saw humans as little more than property. His life changed the day Colonel Henry Jaxxon crossed realms for the first time. Jaxxon not only saved him but took him in as a soldier, shaping the boy into a disciplined, capable young man who now follows him without question.
Charming and strikingly handsome, Oliver knows how to use his good looks as a weapon. It was his idea to infiltrate an Awyan household, targeting Lady Yara Mae for her proximity to Malec. Winning her trust came easily—winning her favor even more so. Patiently, he whispered the suggestion to invite Malec and his Canariae, Allora, to the estate. When the moment finally came, Oliver risked everything to let Allora know her people were looking for her.
Though young, he carries the hard-earned cunning of one who has lived under Awyan rule and despises it to his core. He would gladly risk his life to see the Canariae return to the human realm—because he knows exactly what it means to be caged.

Colonel Henry Jaxxon
Supporting Cast, Melodie's Father
Melodie’s father, a man carved from discipline and sheer will. When his daughter vanishes, he doesn’t hesitate; he follows her trail straight through a portal into another world. But this realm is no mystery to him. The Colonel has known of its existence for years, carrying the secret like a classified file, and he’s walked its dangerous lands before.
Tall and powerfully built, Henry moves with the precision of the soldier he’s always been. His wife may be gone, but his instincts as a father are unshakable—sharp as a sniper’s scope, lethal when aimed. He will do anything to protect his children, no matter the cost. To reach Melodie, he deploys his subordinate, Private Massen, to infiltrate an Awyan household, setting into motion a plan as methodical as it is dangerous.
His mission is simple: bring his daughter home. But fate shifts the objective. Instead of walking away with Melodie, Henry returns to his world carrying a vial of her blood—blood that holds the cure to save humanity.
